NHL Captain Jared Spurgeon to miss the remainder of the season
A new announcement has confirmed some terrible news for a current NHL captain who is expected to miss the rest of this season due to injury.
A new report has confirmed that Minnesota Wild captain and defenseman Jared Spurgeon will miss the remainder of this season due to a pair of injuries. Surgeries on Spurgeon's left hip and his back are expected to keep him out until next season.
NEWS: #MNWild Jared Spurgeon is done for the season due to injury.
He is scheduled to have left hip surgery on February 6 and will then have back surgery approximately 4 weeks later.
Spurgeon, 34, is in the 4th year of a seven-year contract with the Wild. The Wild hope these surgeries will set Spurgeon up to be more effective next season when the Wild are expected to be a better and more competitive team.
