It's a huge news.

The Anaheim Ducks are in the middle of a rebuild. Thus, a Stanley Cup isn't the objective as of now, and some elite players on the roster know it.

Ducks superstar officially wants out

Per Frank Seravelli, John Gibson has officially asked for a trade out of Anaheim.

It appears John Gibson has finally reached his breaking point, as Frank Seravelli reports that he is not only demanding a trade, he's told the Ducks he won't play another game for them.

«John Gibson has demanded a trade, and he's said I am not playing another game for the Anaheim Ducks'.» - Frank Seravelli

Which teams could be interested?

The native of Pittsburgh could head back home with the Penguins. They certainly need more stability in net, and Gibson could absolutely bring that. Another interesting team could be the Winnipeg Jets, as there were some rumors that indicated that Connor Hellebuyck wanted to play elsewhere.

As a reminder, Gibson was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in 2011. In 431 games with the club, the 6 foot 2 goaltender registered a .912 save percentage and a 2.83 goals against average.
