Trevor Zegras' Bold Message to the Ducks Sparks Intense Rumors
Trevor Zegras has become a controversial character in the NHL in recent years with his incredible, offensive style of play, and despite his production, the Ducks could potentially lose him soon.
A bright young star
In the early stages of his career, Zegras has drawn headlines around the league for his flashy style of play, and while it rubs some the wrong way, it has certainly thrilled crowds, bringing attention to the Ducks that they've rarely seen in the past few years.
For some reason or another, the Ducks however don't seem to be interested in rushing to give him a deal, despite doing so for his teammate Troy Terry, and now, he's sent them a very strong, clear statement about his intentions.
Will he get a big deal?
It's not yet clear whether Zegras wants a long-term deal comparable to Troy Terry, but he's now made it clear that he wants some type of deal as he remains an RFA, telling the organization that unless he gets a deal, he won't be stepping foot in California.
I'm well set up here (Stamford, Connecticut) to train and skate. No matter where we are with the contract, I know I'll be able to prepare properly for the upcoming season.
With 61 and 65 points over the past few years, it's clear that this team needs a star like Zegras, and with the danger of an offer sheet out there, they need to make a move soon, because if not, trade rumours will continue to intensify, and they may be forced to move their young star.
