The Bruins revealed that their former captain Ed Sandford died at 95 years old.
It is with sadness that we share Ed Sandford, who had been our oldest living Bruins Alumni member, has passed away at the age of 95.
Taking a Look Back at Sandford's Career
Ed Sandford played most of his nine-year career in the NHL with the Bruins. He also notably wore the Red Wings and the Blackhawks' uniforms before retiring in 1956.
He scored 251 points in 502 games and was named five times on the all-star team.
The Bruins also recognized him as one of the 100 most legendary players in their history.
We send our best wishes to his family and his friends.
