Boston Bruins finally set to trade Vezina goaltender Linus Ullmark
It appears that the Boston Bruins are finally set to trade their goaltender Linus Ullmark, the 2022-23 Vezina Trophy winner.
With Jeremy Swayman taking on the number one role for the Boston Bruins during the playoffs, and with Ullmark's contract in Boston ending after the next season, a trade involving the goalie is almost expected at this point.
The Bruins have many holes to fill this summer, and trading Ullmark could solve at least one of their issues.
At the upcoming draft, Boston only has three picks, and none in the first round. They could be interested in getting a top pick to restock their prospect pool.
The timing couldn't be better for the Bruins, as the New Jersey Devils' general manager Tom Fitzgerald mentioned in a recent press conference that he's willing to trade his 10th overall pick for a goaltender:
"Does the No. 10 pick get you that type of player that you can add to the group? It's easy to say, �Go get so-and-so and then you build from there.' But there are some guys who have different contracts so how are those players going to reprice at. There's a lot to it, but, yes, the focus is on finding that goaltender."
However, other goalies are reportedly available on the market that could interest the Devils: Calgary Flames' Jacob Markstrom and Nashville Predators' Juuse Saros.
If the Devils turn to one of those two goalies, the Bruins would still have the option of trading him for a top six forward, which they desperately need.
