Milan Lucic receives bad news on his recent arrest situation
The Boston Bruins' forward Milan Lucic was arrested a few months ago for assault and battery on a family member. There's been a major update about his case.
Last November, Lucic pleaded not-guilty to the charges against him. Today, Lucic had another hearing, in which the Court issued a trial date: February 16th.
"The @NHLBruins veteran forward #MilanLucic appeared for status hearing via @Zoom at #Boston Municipal Court on a domestic charge. A jury trial has been set for February 16th, so this is going to trial. Lucic is accused of dragging his wife by the hair during argument in November"
The Bruins almost completely cut ties with him, announcing on November 18th that the player would be taking an indefinite leave of absence. He's currently on the LTIR and the Player Assistance Program, but if the judges find him guilty, the Bruins will be able to terminate his contract.
