BREAKING: Contender Gives Jaroslav Halak One Last Shot to Stay in the NHL
Jaroslav Halak has had an incredible 17-year career in the NHL. While many believed his journey in the league was over, it seems he's been given one more shot.
Halak Teams Up with the Hurricanes for a Final NHL Stint
The news was first reported by Elliotte Friedman, announcing that the Hurricanes are offering Halak another shot at NHL success.
There is also word that 17-year veteran Jaroslav Halak will practising with Carolina today. He's not signed appears to be a PTO but the Hurricanes are bringing him in to take a look.
Following this, the Hurricanes made an official statement:
Goaltender Jaroslav Halak is joining the Hurricanes as a free agent tryout. Frederik Andersen is dealing with a medical issue and undergoing evaluations. An update will be provided when available, but no further comment will be issued until that time. Halak is best remembered for his iconic 2010 cup run. He might not be in his prime anymore, but he adds depth to the contending Hurricanes.
Could Halak possibly lock down another cup ring before retiring?
