BREAKING: Former Maple Leaf signs a ridiculous contract with the Blackhawks
In breaking news today, this former Maple Leaf has just signed a massive new deal with the Chicago Blackhawks.
It was announced today that the Chicago Blackhawks and Nick Foligno have come to an agreement on a contract extension which will keep Foligno in the Windy City for another 2 years.
Nick Foligno signs a two-year extension with the #blackhawks carrying a $4.5M AAV.
Foligno got a pretty hefty pay bump from his last contract which was signed with the Boston Bruins. The $4.5 million AAV is a raise over his current 3.8 AAV, especially considering he has just 17 points in 39 games this season.
It is likely that the Blackhawks are more interested in Foligno's veteran ability to lead them through their current rebuild, and to continue to mentor rookie sensation Connor Bedard.
