Connor Bedard Breaks First NHL Record After Only Eight Games
It only took eight games for the newest NHL sensation, Connor Bedard, to break an NHL record.
Bedard Breaks His First NHL Record
The Blackhawks' first overall pick in the latest draft has scored five points in the eight games since the season started.
Last night, against the Golden Knights, he scored his third goal of the season and became the first 18-year-old to score in both of his first two games against the defending Stanley Cup champions.
"CONNOR BEDARD WITH A ROCKET 🚀"
"Connor Bedard scored his second goal in as many meetings against the defending #StanleyCup champions a feat never before achieved by an 18-year-old."
Bedard Continues to Perform Despite Pressure
Since he was a teenager, Bedard has been facing a lot of pressure. However, it never got in the way of his success.
He always manages to perform amazingly: in Juniors, in tournaments, and now in the NHL.
He has had a good start, with three goals and two assists. It might not be the pace that many expected, but it's solid for an 18-year-old rookie still acclimating to the NHL's rhythm.
He opened up about all the attention he's been getting and the pressure on him during a recent interview:
An honest Connor Bedard on all the attention he gets: «It's been pretty wild. Ever since before camp-ish, it's been crazy. But it's not something I look at as a negative at all. I'm really grateful to be in the position I am and there's very few people that get that opportunity, get to be as lucky. I'm looking at it like that. I'm living out a dream and I feel very fortunate for that. But it is crazy and busy. I'm human too; I can get a little tired. But it's been good and I'm just enjoying it.» #Blackhawks
