RUMOUR: Two Superstar Forwards Hoping to Join Connor Bedard and the Blackhawks
The Chicago Blackhawks have gotten a lot of attention ever since they won the 2023 Draft lottery. A lot of possibilities come with adding a future superstar to the team.
Connor Bedard will likely play in Chicago for a long time, and it's now the organization's job to make sure he's well supported on the ice. If they do it right, a Stanley Cup could come a lot sooner than initially believed.
According to a new report, two extremely talented soon-to-be free agents could be interested in joining Bedard in his quest for victory.
Blackhawks to Sign Two Superstars This Summer?
William Nylander and Elias Pettersson will be free agents this summer. If the Maple Leafs and the Canucks don't trade or extend them, they should be available on the market after the season.
It wouldn't be surprising to learn that they're interested in playing with Bedard and the Hawks, as claimed on Spittin' Chiclets.
"Do not be surprised if you see Elias Pettersson try to make his way to the Chicago Blackhawks to be with Bedard next year.
I can see him out of there (Vancouver), and what a spot to go to. And that's a team (Chicago) that has the cap space, right?"
"Nylander, too. There's been a lot of talk of Nylander going to Chicago as well. That's part of it, too."
Blackhawks' Rebuild Could Be a Lot Quicker With Nylander And/Or Pettersson
If the Hawks manage to get either Nylander, Pettersson, or both, their rebuild process could be a lot faster than many would've predicted.
After the 2024 draft, the Hawks will have even more talented prospects, and in a few years, could be top contenders to win the Stanley Cup.
The two players are expected to ask for big raises after this season, and the Blackhawks have enough cap space to make it happen.
