Avalanche to Get Major Reinforcement in Top Prospect From the KHL
According to a new report, the Avs will add a forward to their lineup, as his KHL season just ended.
Indeed, Nikolai Kovalenko, drafted 171st in 2018 by Colorado, could finally join the Avs, a year after signing his entry-level contract, and six years after his draft.
In 42 games in the KHL this season, Kovalenko scored 35 points with Torpedo.
- What about Kovalenko? They say he'll go to Colorado...
- A little damage, I'm not ready to answer yet. The medical staff will say later. As for the NHL, yes, he has a contract with Colorado. We only wish him success, he's going to their system. The guy wants to try in the strongest league in the world, to try this competition. The competition will be serious, we wish him to adequately represent "Torpedo" at the end of the season in North America. I hope he will succeed, and he will play in Colorado. We can't doubt, we can only believe in the player," Match TV correspondent reports Larionov's words.
He could be an interesting addition to the bottom-six, adding a lot of depth to the team.
