Connor Brown Ends 2-Year Goal Drought vs. Capitals: I Believed in Myself
Connor Brown has had his struggles over the past few years, but he recently got rewarded for his perseverance during a game when he broke his goal drought. After the game, he reflected on what it meant to him.
Connor Brown Reveals His Feelings About Breaking Scoring Drought After Goal Versus Washington
Brown has had his ups and downs with the Oilers this season and in the recent past. He has suffered from injury and struggled to find his spot in the lineup. That has resulted in some tough scoring numbers for Brown. However, during the Oilers game against the Capitals, Brown was able to break his scoring drought, scoring for the first time since March 24 of 2022.
After the game, Brown reflected on what the goal meant to him and how he persevered despite the difficulties over the past few seasons.
«I believed in myself. I know I was just focused on feeling better, getting faster, stronger, playing better," Brown said. "I know I'm around the net enough that one's gonna pop in, and i know I can build from that and gain some confidence it's nice to get that one now."
Brown Receives Standing Ovation From Oilers Fans For Breaking Drought
It was all love from Oilers fans after Brown broke the drought, as he was given a massive standing ovation from the crowd that lasted nearly two minutes. It seemed fans were truly supporting the struggles that Brown had been through, and even threw hats on the ice in support of him.
Brown and the Oilers are looking to continue their success when it matters, down the stretch, as it seems like a different team than the one that started the season this year.
