BREAKING: Edmonton and Nashville Finalize a Blockbuster Trade
Back at the trade deadline, the Edmonton Oilers traded away Reid Schaefer, Tyson Barrie, a 2024 4th-round pick, and a 2023 1st-round pick for star defenseman Matias Ekholm.
With the Oilers being eliminated in the 2nd round, they have had the 2023 1st round pick finalized as the 24th overall pick.
This is great news for Nashville because that means the pick will be earlier than if the Oilers were to have made the Western Conference finals.
In a star-studded draft, the 24th overall pick will still be very valuable and the Predators should be able to get a top prospect with the pick.
