Evander Kane In Hot Water After Major Allegations Arise

Evander Kane is no stranger to controversy during his time in the NHL. However, new allegations have been put forth against Kane that a truly shocking.

New Allegations Arise Against Kane

A new Instagram story has sparked major problems for Evander Kane. The Instagram story displays a written letter by Christina Marleau, Patrick Marleau's wife, detailing a shocking series of events.

Reportedly Kane and a younger teammate were at Marleau's home babysitting when Kane and the young player took a substance. They then left the baby and went missing for hours.

"My husband had heard that during the Covid pause on the season, father [Kane] had invited a teammate and his girlfriend over to their home. The information we had heard was that both father and the teammate had taken some sort of substance, which resulted in the teammate running out of the house and missing for multiple hours throughout the night."

This has led to horror from fans directed at Kane for putting another player and himself in this position. It has also led people to speculate who the other player could be.

Speculation Builds Surrounding Mystery Young Player

The statement above made many wonder who the young player could be. Marleau herself continued later in her statement and mentioned on player in particular Ryan Merkley.

"We also became aware of a young Sharks player, Ryan Merkley, was babysitting Kensington during at least one night in December of
2021. Although we have heard from other hockey families that this was not just a one time event. I believe Mr. Merkley is 20 years old."

With all of the information provided by Christina Marleau, it is not difficult to conclude that Merkley could be the young player. Of course, nothing is confirmed but it could explain things eventually.

Now both players are not with the Sharks anymore for different reasons. Kane's contract was terminated for violation of COVID-19 rules. While Ryan Merkley was traded to the Colorado Avalanche and then signed in the KHL.

As time goes on it will be interesting to see if any more details come out regarding this situation.
