Sidney Crosby Makes a Shocking Claim About Connor McDavid
Recently, Crosby made some shocking claims about what he thinks Connor McDavid's upcoming season will look like.
Last season, Connor McDavid proved just how great he was by breaking the incredible milestone of reaching 150 points in a season. The incredible feat hadn't been achieved since 1996. Some believe McDavid hasn't reached his peak yet.
In a recent interview, Sidney Crosby revealed just how good he thinks McDavid is, and how he thinks he can go further with more points in a season, reaching 170 points.
"I mean, I didn't think 150 was going to be in the cards for him but he found a way to get there," Crosby said. "So, I don't think anything is out of the question for him as far as numbers are concerned."
"He just finds a way to find another level time and time again, so I would never bet against him."
150 points is one thing, but having 3-time Stanley Cup winner Sidney Crosby telling the world he thinks you can get to 170 is another.
Reaching 170 Points Would be an Incredible Milestone
Points are getting harder and harder to come by, as the NHL gets more skilled and faster and more players are getting in on scoring action. If McDavid were to reach 170 points, that's just over 2 points per game, assuming he plays all 82 games.
The last player to reach over 170 points in a year? Mario Lemieux, who achieved an incredible feat of 199 points in the 1988-89 season.
As seen on Blade of Steel - "Crosby believes McDavid will hit milestone major point milestone that hasn't been reached since 1989"
