Maple Leafs Dangerous Duo Show Signs Of Brilliance
William Nylander is a natural center that has been playing on the wing in Toronto thanks to the Leafs tremendous top two of Auston Matthews and John Tavares. This season though, they might be looking to shake things up as Nylander has been playing center during training camp, and now in preseason action.
Nylander and Domi Show Positive Chemistry
One of Nylander's wingers today was new Leafs forward Max Domi. The two players showed a lot of promising chemistry together, creating multiple scoring chances including this dangerous look taken by Nylander himself.
The initial pass from Nylander to gain the offensive zone with control here is simply incredible and the pass back to Nylander was almost as impressive as he was just able to handle it and still get off a good shot.
Nylander Dominates At Center
Overall, Nylander had an excellent day at center, leading the team in several key offensive stats.
I will note though that Nylander went just 11 for 22 in the faceoff circle, not 11 for 11. Still though, far from a bad performance for the forward who hasn't played center regularly in several years.
