Jack Campbell was placed on waivers earlier today and rumors are now swirling that he could find his new home out east.
Campbell Placed On Waivers After Horrendous Start
Edmonton Oilers fans had high hopes for Jack Campbell even after a rough season in his first year with the team. Unfortunately, Campbell was unable to find the success he had in Toronto. As a result, Campbell was placed on waivers today by the Oilers.
Goaltender Jack Campbell has been placed on waivers for the purpose of assignment.

The Oilers also called up veteran goalie Calvin Pickard to replace Campbell.
Pickard has a .939 Sv% in Bakersfield this season and 116 games of #NHL experience. Perhaps Pickard can spur EDM a couple wins and allow Campbell time to find his game again.
Although Campbell is on waivers many people expect him to clear due to his large salary cap hit. This has led to speculation that he could be traded for another highly discussed goalie.
Campbell Heading East After Being Placed On Waivers?
If Campbell does indeed clear waivers one team has been heavily linked to him in a potential trade already. The Philadelphia Flyers have been linked to wanting to change up their goalie tandem.
Reports say they are willing to take on a bad contract and give up goalie Carter Hart.
Is there a fit with EDM?
This then leads to the natural pairing of Campbell to Philly for Carter Hart. Both desperately need a change of scenery and Hart has the upside to be the goalie of the future for the Oilers.
