BREAKING: 900-Game NHL Veteran Joins New Team
We just learned some major news concerning a 900-game veteran.
Stepan Retires and Joins Minnesota Wild's Front-Office
According to journalist Michael Russo, the Minnesota Wild are set to hire Derek Stepan to their organization.
This could mean that Stepan's playing career is behind him!
"Years of me campaigning for the #mnwild to sign Derek Stepan finally worked. Stepan is shadowing Bill Guerin and the Wild staff and the plan is for him to work with them in some capacity soon. Guerin/Stepan live by each other so they joked it's bring your neighbor to work day."
Over his career, Stepan played 890 NHL games for the Rangers, Coyotes, Senators, and Hurricanes. He scored 515 games during that time.
It remains uncertain as to what capacity he'll serve, but many retired players typically begin as advisors, consultants, or scouts.
