When the news came out that Carey Price had basically a less than 10% chance of coming back to play for the Canadiens, it was believed that he would step away from the game to spend quality time with his family.
And that he did. Other than a few times he stayed with the team, he was mostly done with hockey.
That appears to have changed, and nobody is really surprised. To be that good at something, you have to love it with everything you have. It wasn't going to be so easy to step away.
According to the Montreal Gazette, Price has been helping Sam Montembeault prep for the World Hockey Championship in Riga, Latvia.
Future Coach ?
Goalie coaching could very much be in the cards for Price. He knows the position as well as anybody, and it wouldn't be a stressful executive position, as Price is a very easy going, calm guy.
We'll see if the work he put in with Montembeault helps him bring another Gold medal back to Canada !
