The Next Brad Marchand Has Signed in the NHL
The Montreal Canadiens have one of the best prospect pools in the league. They just signed one of their most intriguing guys to his ELC.
Simoneau Signs Entry-Level Deal
Xavier Simoneau is one of the most unique players in hockey. He's the shortest player currently with an NHL contract, standing at only 5'6", but he is rock solid as a player.
He hits hard, and is never afraid to fight. He even took on the tallest player in professional hockey in Curtis Douglas a few months ago.
He's also only 21 years old, and is truly beaming with potential.
Simoneau signed a two-year ELC with an annual average value of $855,000.
He's excelling with the Laval Rocket, and his tenacious high-energy game will likely translate well to the NHL.
It's hard not to make the connection with fellow small enforcer Brad Marchand, but Simoneau can also play centre!
Do the Canadiens have the next most hated player in the league on their hands? We'll just have to wait and see.
