Montreal Canadiens sign Jared Davidson to a new contract
The Montreal Canadiens announced today that they have signed forward prospect Jared Davidson to a standard, entry-level contract.
The announcement came after Davidson completed his rookie season in the American Hockey League with the Laval Rockets. Davidson got into 38 games with the Rockets this season, finding the back of the net 11 times and racking up 16 points in total. As he is already 21 years old, the entry-level contract will be for two years. All entry-level deals in the NHL have their term predetermined by the player's age.
The Canadiens have agreed to terms on a two-year, entry-level contract (2024-25 to 2025-26) with forward Jared Davidson.

Following the announcement from the Canadiens, Davidson got a special shout out from the WHL. The 21-year-old spent his junior hockey days playing in the league where he spent five seasons with the Seattle Thunderbirds.

Last season Davidson wore a letter as an alternate captain for the team, but ultimately scored at essentially the exact same pace as the previous season. Over his last two years in the league he racked up 80 goals and 171 points in 124 regular season games. He added 24 goals and 52 points in 44 playoff games, but both years the Thunderbirds fell short of their Memorial Cup dream. Davidson was drafted as an over-ager in the 5th round by the Canadiens in 2022, 130th overall.
