The Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine provided an important update on his knee injury recovery process.

After finally getting a fresh start in the National Hockey League, Patrik Laine suffered another long-term injury, only minutes into his second preseason game with the Montreal Canadiens.

In a controversial collision with Toronto Maple Leafs forward Cedric Pare, who now plays with the Marlies in the AHL, Laine injured his knee.

The organization and the fans were preparing for the worst. But Laine chose to not get a surgery. It was later revealed that the player is expected to return in two to three months.

Almost a month after Laine's incident, he seems to be doing well. He remains close to the team and stay focused on the positive. Fans got to see glimpses of his recovery through social media, but earlier today, Laine himself shared a small update to his Instagram followers.

He posted a picture of him at the Bell Center during the Montreal Canadiens' home opener pre-game ceremony, revealing that his knee is still hurting in the caption, but he focused on the outfit he wore at the event.

Whether they liked the fit or not, fans are happy to see him happy despite all this adversity.

His injury was a terrible blow for the Canadiens, who were hoping to see Laine play a big offensive role with the team this season. However, we can't imagine how hard it must have been for him.

Everyone in Montreal looks forward to see him back on the ice. They saw what he brought in the first preseason game with the Canadiens. Even if he didn't score, he was the best player that night. A player with that much talent is poised to have an impact on the team, especially with the organization's goal to be "in the mix" for the playoffs this year.

Once again tonight, Laine will get to watch his teammates jump on the ice, for the Canadiens fifth game of the season. With a record of 2-2, the Habs are set to face the Los Angeles Kings at the Bell Center.
