The New York Rangers are off to a red-hot 8-2-0 start in 2023-24, but unfortunately, their latest win over the Carolina Hurricanes has come at a major cost.
A massive star goes down
Not only did Filip Chytil go down in the win, but Adam Fox, the teams biggest star did as well, and now, the team have made it official, placing him on Long-Term Injured Reserve.
Sounds like #NYR Adam Fox will be out a little bit. He's heading to LTIR.
Louis Domingue has been called up, Igor Shesterkin was also a little nicked up last night. Jonathan Quick was scheduled to start on Saturday anyway. It's unclear right now just how long Fox will be out, but this isn't a good sign for a Rangers team that relies so much on Fox's leadership, speed and passing ability to set the tone, so this will be a big test for them.
In his place, the team have promoted Louis Domingue, but with K'Andre Miller, Jacob Trouble, Ryan Lindgren and Braden Schneider all patrolling the blue line, this team is about to show off just how deep and talented they are.
