Kris Letang has incredible game in honour of his late father
It has been a difficult year for Kris Letang. The legendary veteran blueliner, who's played along teammates and friends Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin for 17 years suffered a stroke earlier in the season, and then on December 28th went on IR as his dad passed away.
He returned last night, to a record-tying four-point performance. His OT-winning goal tied him with Erik Karlsson for the most overtime points by a defenseman of all time. It was an incredible moment for Letang, who finished the 7-6 game in honour of his father.
You can see the entire team go to hug Letang, with Crosby holding his good friend tightly. This momentous goal will never be forgotten.
Letang is one of the most perseverant players in the league. It is safe to say that he will be a frontrunner for the Bill Masterton trophy.
