When Elliotte Friedman says something, it almost always comes true. In this case, he has tied the Pittsburgh Penguins to a top remaining free agent.
Following the massive three-team Erik Karlsson trade, Friedman has revealed an exciting update - Kyle Dubas is not finished making moves.
Penguins Set to Sign Tatar?
Veteran winger Tomas Tatar is still a free agent up until now in August. However, it seems his days without a team are numbered.
According to Elliotte Friedman, Tatar is on Pittsburgh's radar as they are likely looking for another forward.
Having been involved in two significant trades in recent years, Tatar has bounced around quite a bit. Despite his tendency to underperform in the playoffs, he remains an effective middle-six winger.
Step One: Make the Playoffs
The strength of the Eastern Conference demands that the Penguins reinforce their lineup, and Tatar could be the piece they need, even if he doesn't help much in the post-season.
