The Tampa Bay Lightning are having a difficult night against the Boston Bruins. Their struggles culminated in a wild tirade from head coach Jon Cooper which led to a penalty called against him.

Lightning Head Coach Given A Penalty After In-Game Tirade

After a goal scored by the Boston Bruins to give them a 3-1 lead Jon Cooper was visibly upset. He took his frustrations out with the referees and smacked one of the referees while he flailed his arms. This immediately led to a penalty called against Cooper.

Cooper was only given a penalty and not ejected from the game. Cooper's fiery reaction seems to have woken his team up as they have climbed back to be down 4-3 in the late stages of the second period.

As the game continues it will be interesting to see if the Lightning can complete the comeback. All eyes tomorrow will be on the NHL to see if any further discipline will be heading Cooper's way.
