Matthew Knies Reveals What it's Like to Play With Playoff Auston Matthews
Having two players on one team that both come from Arizona is pretty crazy. The two of course share a close bond because of it.
Auston Matthews and Matthew Knies have only been teammates for three weeks, but they're now on the same line, and they broke the Maple LEafs first round curse together.
Knies Reveals What it's Like to Play With Matthews
Matthew Knies has exceeded all expectations, which is incredible considering how sky-high they were. Just a few weeks after the bitter end to his NCAA career (at Amalie Arena to boot), he shared his thoughts on Matthews.
"An incredible player & someone I looked up to when I was younger so to get that opportunity is special"
Matthews equally shared his thought on Knies:
"He's making a difference ...does a lot of the little things that maybe you wouldn't expect a young guy to do"
Matthews is only 25, so hopefully these two will be Maple Leafs teammates, and maybe even Maple Leafs linemates for years to come.
The Arizona connection is strong!
