Tyler Bertuzzi not only brings tough play and scoring, but he also brings a swagger to teams. It was out in Detroit, yet he was often injured to end his tenure with that team.
Once traded to Boston, his character and swagger stood out for the team. Bertuzzi originally played on the third line and second powerplay, but as he played more games, he moved up to the top line and top powerplay.
Getting noticed
Bertuzzi's on ice style caught the attention of the B/R Open Ice account on Thursday night.
Tyler Bertuzzi's long, flowing hair and missing tooth have always made him stand out against many other hockey players that look similar. Add to that the fact that he can put up points and be a pain in the butt of his opponents on a nightly basis, and he is truly a one-of-a-kind player.
Matthews pokes fun
When Auston Matthews was asked about Tyler Bertuzzi's style he had a couple fun ribs directed towards his new teammate.
Matthews was keen to point out Bertuzzi's skates, which have the tongues out and barely any tape on his sticks. Tyler Bertuzzi really is a unique player who seems to be bringing a fresh, new and fun environment to Leaf land.
It could end up being the final piece of the puzzle for the Toronto Maple Leafs as they look to challenge for the Stanley Cup.
