Auston Matthews grew up in Arizona and watched Shane Doan play for the Yotes his entire childhood and now he will be working closely with Doan.
Leafs Hire Doan
Any kid who grew up in Arizona and was a hockey fan can tell you all about Shane Doan. It was just announced by NHL insider Kevin Weekes that Doan will be working closely with Matthews.
Doan played over 1500 games in his NHL career, all with the Coyotes organization. He scored 972 total points throughout his career.
Auston Matthews grew up watching Doan and now will have the pleasure of working for Doan. Brad Treliving worked as an assistant in Arizona before he went to be the GM of the Calgary Flames so there is a previous connection between Doan and Treliving.
