Brad Treliving decided to recall Max Lajoie from the Marlies.
The injuries of John Klingberg, Mark Giordano and Timothy Liljegren have given no choice but to call up a young defenseman from the AHL.
"The @MapleLeafs have recalled D Max Lajoie from the @TorontoMarlies."
Lajoie, 26, scored 15 points in 71 NHL games with the Senators, the Hurricanes and the Leafs.
He was drafted by Ottawa at the 5th round of the 2016 draft.
