Ahead of training camp and an overwhelmingly important season, the Maple Leafs roster has now been revealed, and it's safe to say that the forward group is where the money lies for Toronto.
While the usual suspects are there (core four) and the free agent signees (Reaves, Domi, Bertuzzi), it's the young names that appear in the group that stand out, with the likes of Eason Cowan, Dylan Gambrell, Matthew Knies, Nick Robertson and Fraser Minten all looking to make their mark.
That forward group is deep, but when you look at the blue line, there's a lot of questions to be answered, as it appears the pairings will look something like this.
Beyond this veteran group that have question marks over them, the team lacks depth, experience and talent, and with the trade market still hot ahead of the season, it appears this will be where a move is made for the Maple Leafs.
One position that's got plenty of bodies is in net, as the team boast a solid trio of Ilya Samsonov, Joseph Woll and Martin Jones, and with all three on the roster heading into camp, it's shaping up to be the teams biggest positional battle.
Ultimately, it appears that Samsonov-Woll will be the tandem heading into the season, but with injuries, struggles and trades, things could change in a big way.
For now, the team looks as talented and deep as we've seen in recent memory, but with many question marks lingering, training camp will be crucial as the roster shapes up ahead of what may be the teams most important season in decades.
