As someone from Ontario, many fans may have linked him to the Toronto Maple Leafs, and while that's still a long way away, they will be looking for any signs that the 26-year old could be interested.

Recently, McDavid was spotted in Toronto with Leafs captain John Tavares, and while this is common in the off-season, it's sparked some excitement that the link to Toronto could be real.
It's too early to be making links to the Leafs off of something like this, but in a quiet part of the off-season, speculation will run wild, so there's no doubt people out there that may put two and two together after this appearance.
