Major Announcement Surrouding Maple Leafs Top Prospects Fraser Minten and Easton Cowan Emerges
Major Announcement Concerning Two Leafs Prospects
With the holidays around the corner, so is the World Junior Championship. Leafs' fans will have a great gift this year: two prospects will represent Team Canada in Sweden for the tournament.
Canadian fans will be able to watch both Easton Cowan and Fraser Minten in action together.
Minten and Cowan Will Represent Canada at the World Junior Championship
The Canada played their first exhibition game on Tuesday afternoon. Here's the players we saw on the ice:
"Team 🇨🇦 lines for exhibition game No. 1
Cowan - Geekie - Savoie
Minten - Celebrini - Dumais
Rehkopf - Yager - Wood
Allard - Beck - Danielson
Mateychuk - Lamoureux
Furlong - Bonk
Molendyk - Warren
Rousseau starts
St-Hilaire
Scratches: Poitras (rest), Luneau (sick), Ratzlaff"
While seeing Minten make the team isn't surprising, the same thing can't be said for Cowan. It's safe to say not a lot of people expected this to happen, especially not on the team's first line.
Of course, in exhibition games, coaches like to test some players and see what they can bring to the team.
Team Canada will play its first official game on the 26, against Finland. It'll be interesting to see where Minten and Cowen end up on the lineup, with Matthew Poitras possible taking a spot on the first line.
