Today the Maple Leafs had a practice ahead of their upcoming important division rivalry against the Senators. The practice gave fans and media a look at the lineup change that Head Coach Sheldon Keefe will be making ahead of the game.
According to reports from media who were in attendance Ryan Reaves will likely be scratched for the game as he was the extra in practice. This means forward Bobby McMann will draw into the lineup on the fourth line in his place.
On defense, the pairings are reportedly staying the same. William Lagesson will once again handle second-pair duties after a successful game the other night. The bottom pair will feature Simon Benoit and Connor Timmins.
In goal, Joseph Woll looks to be getting the nod against the high-powered Senators.
With these lines, the Maple Leafs will look to take on a struggling Senators team.
The Ottawa Senators come into this game last in the Atlantic Division. While this is true it is a bit deceitful as they have played significantly fewer games than every other team in the division.
The Senators are led by Tim Stutzle and Brady Tkachuk up front. On defense, young Jake Sanderson is their star player. The Senators have struggled to keep the puck out of the net this season meaning the Maple Leafs need to use their skill and offensive firepower to their advantage.
With the Maple Leafs' defense struggling due to injuries and the Senators' struggles in general the game could be a high-scoring one. If the Maple Leafs are going to come out on top players like Auston Matthews and William Nylander are going to have to perform at an elite level.
