Maple Leafs Officially Targeting Two Young Defensemen From a Surprising Team
The Toronto Maple Leafs are continuing their hunt for a defenseman to acquire, and now it appears they are targeting two defensemen from this team.
Leafs Potentially Looking at Pair of Flyers Defensemen
The Toronto Maple Leafs are well-reported as one of the teams looking desperately to fill gaps on their blueline before the trade deadline. There were previous reports that they were looking at Flyers Defenseman Rasmus Ristolinen from the Flyers, though, this was widely criticized by many fans online.
Now, Elliotte Freedman has revealed that teams are inquiring about a pair of Flyers defensemen, Sean Walker and Nick Seeler.
While the report isn't directly linked to the Leafs, the Leafs do have a pattern of trying to acquire pairs of defensemen from teams, as it was rumoured they were going after both Chris Tanev and Nikita Zadorov from the Flames.
Leafs Hold Predators to Shutout Last Night
All things considered, the Toronto Maple Leafs are doing pretty well, when you factor in how many starting defensemen they are missing. With Timothy Liljegren out, Mark Giordano out, and John Klingberg out, the Leafs are without 3 of their top 6 defensemen. Despite this, they have managed to win 4 of their last 5 games.
It's clear the Leafs will make a move for a defenseman, or at least continue trying, what will be interesting is to see how much they are willing to give up.
