Matt Murray Comments On His Return to Ottawa
When Matt Murray takes to the ice tonight, it will be the first time he faces the Ottawa Senators since the veteran goaltender was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs last summer. The game marks his fourth start since returning from an ankle injury that sidelined him earlier this season.
Murray Comments On His Return To Ottawa
In an interview leading up to the game, Murray acknowledged the emotions that come with playing against his former team.
"You do your best to treat it like every other game. My focus is on that. They're a dangerous team, incredibly talented offensively."
Despite the emotional component, the veteran goaltender is anticipating a competitive atmosphere on the ice.
"I think it's going to be a playoff-type atmosphere out there. We're going to have our hands full."
Murray aims to break a streak of allowing four goals in each of his past five appearances, a record that goes back to January 14th. His performance tonight could prove crucial for the Maple Leafs as they continue their push towards the playoffs.
