Matthew Knies Finally Breaks His Silence On The Scary Injury He Escaped

Today Matthew Knies spoke to the media for the first time since suffering a scary injury during practice with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Knies Goes Down With Scary Injury

In practice, on Wednesday Mathew Knies suffered an injury that left Maple Leafs fans upset and waiting for an update. Knies needed to be helped off the ice and would not return during the practice session. Knies being helped off the ice was not considered a good sign for his long term prognosis.

After practice an update came from Auston Matthews that the injury was not as serious as it looked. Today Knies returned to the ice for practice. After practice, he was able to speak with the media and give them an update on his status.

Knies Breaks His Silence On Scary Injury He Escaped

After practice, Knies met with the media and discussed the play that led to his scary-looking injury. Knies said he got a stick caught in his skates which led his knee to twist awkwardly.

Fell awkwardly back on to my knee and just kinda twisted it wrong. Was in a lot of discomfort and didn't feel right.

Knies continues and says that by the end of the day with treatment he felt fine again. This is good news and means Knies likely won't miss any time at all with the Maple Leafs. His next opportunity to play will come tonight against the New York Islanders.
