Despite the Toronto Maple Leafs' season ending with a loss to the Florida Panthers in the second round, rookie Matthew Knies is still deeply involved in hockey.
Knies Stands Out in Playoffs
The 20-year-old has made a notable impression since transitioning from university to the NHL, demonstrating his skills until the playoffs' elimination round against Sam Bennett.
Like Auston Matthews, Knies is from Arizona, and he recently surprised the young participants of the Yotes hockey camp for 9-and-under, delighting the children.
Knies Surprises Young Hockey Players at Camp
Given his impressive performance and substantial playing time on the top line, Knies seems to have a promising future in the NHL. Rumors are circulating about a possible trade of William Nylander, which could provide an opportunity for Knies to step up and fill the gap left by Nylander.
