Potential Candidate to Replace Ron MacLean is revealed
In the last few weeks, there have been a lot of rumors that Hockey Night in Canada was considering changing members of their broadcasting team.
It was said that no one was safe except Elliotte Friedman. Even Ron MacLean, whose departure was expected since Don Cherry was fired.
Now, it has been confirmed that MacLean is coming back next season.
However, there are still some speculations about who will replace him when the time comes. At 63 years old, it could happen sooner than later.
Potential Replacement
An expert made an interesting suggestion.
According to him, the best candidate to replace MacLean is currently working for the Toronto Maple Leafs organization.
It's Dr. Hayley Wickenheiser, the Assistant GM in Toronto.
She is highly decorated with international medals, including four Olympics gold, one silver, as well as seven golds and six silvers at World Championships.
Right now, she's also a resident physician. Her understanding of the game, on the ice, and in the management offices, is unprecedented. She could bring a lot to the HNiC team.
It would be surprising to see her leave the Leafs, but if it happens, she could consider joining a sports channel as an analyst.
