The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Chicago Blackhawks have something in common this season that many would not have thought possible. Both of these teams have five regulation wins thus far into the season.
The Leafs Shocking Start to The Season
Despite having six more wins than the Blackhawks they are tied with regulation wins. The Leafs record looks good sitting at 11-6-3 however their play on the ice has left fans wanting more.
The Leafs especially this season have been relying on their top players to be scoring all the goals. William Nylander's start to the season has been what has carried the Leafs this season.
It was primarily seen in Sweden when the Leafs played the Detroit Red Wings, the Leafs struggled to gain any offence until Nylander took the game in his own hands and rallied the Leafs back to win.
Games like this have caused their Head Coach, Sheldon Keefe to be seen losing his mind on the bench, however the reaction from the players seem to be lackluster.
Has Sheldon Keefe Lost Control of This Maple Leafs Roster?
In their last game against the Florida Panthers, the Leafs offence was no where to be found and without a strong game from Joseph Woll the Leafs deserved to lose the game.
Keefe at one point was seen yelling at the players trying to fire them up and battle in the game, however very little reaction was seen from the team leading to questions about Keefe staying as the Head Coach.
Keefe said after the game the rant was not just towards Tyler Bertuzzi who had another poor showing as a member of the Leafs. The rant was towards the whole team.
Keefe said his bench rant on Tuesday was directed towards Bertuzzi but says he holds the whole team accountable when they lose focus after good shifts. Adds that other players get heat from him behind closed doors.
