Return to Toronto Unlikely for Top Leafs Free Agent
Kyle Dubas has his work cut out for himself this summer and it appears he will have even more because there will be a massive hole for him to fill.
Top Leafs Free Agent May Walk
The Leafs' season ended quite disappointingly and the focus has quickly shifted to the off-season. With that comes a lot of uncertainty regarding a top free agent.
In an Instagram post by @leafslatest, it is revealed that top-six forward, Michael Bunting is unlikely to resign.
With this news coming out, it will be quite difficult to fill a Michael Bunting sized hole in the roster but the Leafs may have an ace up their sleeve.
That ace is rookie Matthew Knies who was a Hobey Baker award finalist and could be a top-six forward next season for the Leafs alongside the big four of Matthews, Marner, Tavares, and Nylander.
While the loss of Bunting would hurt for the Leafs, they are fortunate to have a replacement in house and a cheaper one at that.
