Rasmus Sandin Crushes Top Draft Eligible Prospect and Sends Him to the Hospital
Rasmus Sandin tore things up in the NHL this season and continues to do so in the IIHF World Championships. Read more to see the big hit!
Sandin Injures Top Prospect
In a world championship game earlier today, Rasmus Sandin Sweden faced off against Austria.
Austria, a nation developing into a hockey powerhouse, was headlined by top 2023 eligible prospect David Reinbacher. Reinbacher, a consensus top pick and arguably top defenseman in his class, had his tournament and season ended abruptly by a massive hip check from Sandin.
This is surely a tough watch as Reinbacher went head over heels and landed awkwardly on his knee.
After this, Reinbacher left the game and was transported to the hospital. There is no new news on his status.
This will likely affect his draft stock and teams looking for a defenseman in the 5-10 range may change up their draft plan because of this.
