Sheldon Keefe Caught Going Absolutely Crazy on His Players on the Bench vs the Florida Panthers
During last night's game against the Florida Panthers, the Leafs came out to a terribly slow start, and they heard it from Head Coach Sheldon Keefe on the Bench as he let them have it.
Sheldon Keefe Goes Crazy At Players on Bench During Game Against Panthers
The Toronto Maple Leafs were perfectly set up to have a strong game against the Panthers last night, as the Panthers were coming off a tough back-to-back and the Leafs had been resting since Saturday's game. However, they looked sluggish and sloppy to start the game.
The slow start caused Sheldon Keefe to go ballistic on the bench, and rightfully so, as the Leafs looked lifeless during the first half of the game. Unfortunately for Tyler Bertuzzi, he happened to take the brunt of Keefe's anger during one outburst.
The Leafs eventually got their game together and ended up pulling out the victory, in a unique fashion, however, the game did reveal some unfortunate tendencies of the Leafs to play down to their opponent.
Sheldon Keefe Not Apologetic As of Now
In the past, when Keefe has blown up on his players, he was apologetic for his actions after the game. Many speculated that this came from Kyle Dubas forcing him to apologize. Now, it doesn't appear that Keefe is apologetic for his outburst on the bench, and nor should he be. Sometimes even the best players need a fire lit under them to get going.
Long overdue.
That's passion.
Hope no one cries.
The Leafs will look to continue improving their game as the season trudges toward its halfway point.
