The Maple Leafs' Next Elite Duo Has Been Discovered
After the Leafs' comeback victory against Tampa, a new duo has emerged that could potentially do damage for the Leafs.
Domi and Knies Bring Leafs All The Way Back Against Tampa
The Leafs mounted a huge comeback against new rival Tampa Bay on Saturday night, overcoming a two-goal deficit in the third period to come back and win in overtime. The comeback was spearheaded by a surprising duo, though.
Max Domi has had a much slower start to the season than he had likely hoped for, and finally found his grove on Saturday with rookie Matthew Knies. The two connected for two goals back to back to tie the game late in the third.

The connection came exactly when the Leafs needed it most, and just when a lot of fans were starting to give up on Domi's ability to contribute offensively to the Leafs. Knies also got his first two regular-season goals of his career.

Knies and Domi Have a Spark That Should be Flamed
A Knies-Domi duo is a fun one to watch, with the two balancing each other out well. Knies provides a raw goal-scoring ability while Domi has the ability to grind pucks out of the corners and facilitate when he plays up to his potential.

The Knies and Domi duo rises to the Max.
The two should be a fun duo to watch if they remain together this season, however, Knies also has the potential to play on the wing with Tavares and Nylander, giving the Leafs essentially two viable first lines for offence. We will see whether or not Keefe decides to keep the spark going as the season progresses.
