The Roles Of Toronto's Recent Hirings Revealed
We now know what every coach will do for Toronto next year.
The New Coaches
Today, the Toronto Maple Leafs announced that they were hiring two new coaches; Mike Van Ryn and Guy Boucher.
Boucher comes with head coaching experience with the Ottawa Senators and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Van Ryn played with the Maple Leafs previously and served as an assistant coach in St. Louis for the past five years.
Their Roles
It was announced what their roles would be today by insider Mark Masters.
Boucher as a powerplay specialist is a great fit as Boucher is quite knowledgeable on different formations and knows how to cater a powerplay to a superstar.
Van Ryn as the defensive specialist also makes a great amount of sense as he was a defenseman in the NHL and he also was the main defensive coach in St. Louis.
This will give the Leafs two coaches to be specialists and it shows how Brad Treliving is doing his best to ensure the Maple Leafs are as best coached as they could possibly be.
