It should come as no surprise to Leafs fans that Matthews lives an eccentric and exciting life when he's away from the rink.
As one of the biggest names in the sport, fans are always interested in seeing what he is up to. Luckily, Matthews updated us on his summer via Instagram yesterday.
One big event he was at was UFC 303 which he attended with some of his best buds, including Clayton Keller and Leafs legend Joe Thornton.
The Leafs front man was also a key figure at a more important event this summer. Matthews was one of the groomsmen for former teammate Michael Bunting at his wedding earlier this summer.
The event served as somewhat of a Leafs reunion as several other players including Mitch Marner, John Tavares, and even Wayne Simmonds were also there.

Fans can see more of Auston's offseason activities on his Instagram account. He recently posted a photo dump of various summer activities including the aforementioned events.
As for the Leafs, the team appears to be heading toward another season with relatively little roster change.
Each of the core four forwards are still on the team, and Brad Treliving even managed to re-sign Max Domi to a four-year extension. As such, this is how the forward lines will likely look to start next season:
Knies-Matthews-Marner
Holmberg-Tavares-Nylander
McMann-Domi-Robertson
Dewar-Kampf-Jarnkrok
There has been some chatter about moving Tavares to a third line role, but until we actually see that happen, it is safe to assume that he will continue his 2nd-line duties.
Hopefully Holmberg can take another step forward next season while Robertson solidifies his spot on the 3rd line. However, the defense is where things look rather different. The additions of Chris Tanev and Oliver Ekman Larsson figure to shake up the top four.
Rielly-Tanev
OEL- Liljegren
Benoit-McCabe
Joseph Woll and Anthony Stolarz figure to split starts in goal as the team eases Woll into the starting job. Is this roster good enough to do better than they did last season? Only time will tell.
