Alex Pietrangelo reveals why Craig Berube is perfect hire for Toronto
The Maple Leafs have their newest Head Coach in Craig Berube, and now Alex Pietrangelo has high praise for Toronto hiring his former Head Coach.
After the Maple Leafs landed Craig Berube, the positive reviews flowed in for a team struggling in the playoffs under Sheldon Keefe, and now they've received glowing feedback from his former players. The most notable of all is Alex Pietrangelo, who had this to say about the Head Coach he won a Stanley Cup with;
«Anytime you have a team that's trying to get over the hump you want someone to keep you accountable and he's going to do just that»
In the lead up to hiring Berube, this is what many fans and analysts had pointed too as his biggest asset, and to get clarity from a player he trusted dearly is a major positive. With talent like Auston Matthews and William Nylander, this team have the players to make a push, but the coaching in recent years has just been off come post-season time, and Berube appears to be the perfect fit.
Not only is Berube a former player, but he's proven as a Head Coach, with four playoff runs in six years for St. Louis, picking up a Stanley Cup along the way, and if the players buy in, this should be a very fun season in Toronto.
