Auston Matthews scores his 60th and the building erupts
Tonight Maple Leafs superstar Auston Matthews scored his 60th goal of the season. Once he scored the crowd went wild cheering on Auston Matthews and chanting MVP. The wild thing is that the game was played in Buffalo.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are gearing up for their playoff run. The opponent on the schedule today is the Buffalo Sabres. Heading into the game Auston Matthews was on the verge of 60 goals. Midway through the third period he buried his 60th and the pro Maple Leafs crowd in Buffalo erupted.
The crowd was wildly swayed in the Toronto direction with Buffalo being just over the border.
This meant Auston Matthews had plenty of supporters in attendance to see his accomplishment. With his second 60-goal season Auston Matthews becomes just the 4th player to have multiple 60-goal seasons.
The Maple Leafs currently lead the Sabres 3-0 and look to be on the way to a perfect ending to a historic night for their star player. Now the goal is for the Maple Leafs to get healthy heading into the playoffs and try to go on a serious postseason run.
