After another disappointing playoff performance from Mitchell Marner, patience has officially worn out in Toronto, and ever since the Game 7 heartbreaker, fans have eagerly waited his departure. While everyone in the Maple Leafs organization has been tight lipped about the situation, David Pagnotta of the Fourth Period has now officially revealed that the team are ready to take calls on the star forward, who's future lay beyond his home province of Ontario.
In recent times, we've heard that both the Nashville Predators and Utah Hockey Club have shown the most interest, with teams like the Seattle Kraken also expected to show some type of interest in No. 16. Despite his playoff failures, Marner remains one of the best regular season forwards in the entire NHL, and with all of those teams desperate for star forwards, they make sense as potential trade partners.
As for Toronto, the team have major needs both in net and on their blue line, and if they get the right offer for Marner, a potential trade could transform their roster moving forward as they chase a Stanley Cup under new Head Coach Craig Berube.
