Today an NHL insider updated the package that the Maple Leafs might need to pay to acquire some of the top targets on the market.
A recent report from NHL insider Luke Fox talked about the upcoming NHL trade deadline. Fox suggested that the Toronto Maple Leafs might not be as active as some people think at the deadline. Fox believes they won't be able to pay the price teams will want.
Fox also went on to mention some of the players he expects to be too expensive for the Maple Leafs to acquire by the deadline.
In his report, Fox continued and listed several players he believes the Maple Leafs will not be able to acquire. Some of the names included are players that have often been linked to the Maple Leafs.
Each of these players could fill a much-needed role in Toronto. However, the team would need to give up much more than they are likely comfortable with. Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has a huge decision to make about where the Maple Leafs are as a team.
If the Maple Leafs feel this is their best shot at winning a Stanley Cup they could go all in. If not the players listed above will likely end up in other lineups after the trade deadline passes.
